Il ballottaggio presidenziale in Perù si deciderà praticamente all'ultimo voto. Il sito web dell'Ufficio Nazionale dei Processi Elettorali (ONPE) mostra che, con il 91,553% delle schede scrutinate, la differenza tra i due candidati è di appena 113.630 voti.
Secondo gli ultimi dati diffusi dall'ONPE, i risultati parziali sono i seguenti: la candidata di destra Keiko Fujimori è leggermente in vantaggio sul candidato di sinistra Roberto Sánchez, avendo ottenuto il 50,329% dei voti contro il 49,671% del suo rivale.
Questo risultato percentuale attribuisce alla candidata di Fuerza Popular un totale di 8.689.389 voti, mentre il candidato di Juntos por el Perú segue con 8.575.759. La differenza è di 164.000 voti.
Finora, i voti scrutinati provengono principalmente da Lima (la capitale) e da altre città, tradizionalmente roccaforti di Fujimori, candidata alla presidenza per la quarta volta.
Al contrario, Sánchez sta guadagnando terreno nelle zone rurali, il cuore del Perù, i cui voti sono solitamente gli ultimi a essere scrutinati. Ciò è stato confermato durante il primo turno, quando ha superato l'altro candidato di estrema destra e, fino ad allora, il favorito secondo numerosi sondaggi, l'ex sindaco di Lima Rafael López Aliaga.
Gli exit poll diffusi dopo la chiusura dei seggi mostravano un sostanziale pareggio, con un leggero vantaggio per Fujimori. Secondo l'istituto di sondaggi Ipsos, Fujimori ha ottenuto il 50,7% dei voti validi e Sánchez il 49,3%. Datum, dal canto suo, indicava Fujimori con il 50,53% e Sánchez con il 49,47%.

La sua funzione principale è quella di pianificare, coordinare e supervisionare le operazioni militari a livello nazionale, fungendo da comando di collegamento tra le varie branche, tra cui l'Esercito e le Guardie Rivoluzionarie.
Secondo quanto riportato dall'emittente israeliana Canale 12, che cita un alto funzionario governativo, Israele avrebbe sospeso i piani di attacco contro l'Iran su esplicita richiesta del presidente statunitense Donald Trump.
La stessa fonte ha tuttavia precisato che se i raid di Hezbollah contro le città israeliane dovessero continuare, l'esercito di Tel Aviv colpirà duramente i sobborghi meridionali di Beirut. Il funzionario ha inoltre aggiunto che gli attacchi israeliani nel Libano meridionale proseguiranno a pieno ritmo nei prossimi giorni. Al momento, al Jazeera che ha rilanciato l'indiscrezione, precisa che la notizia non è stata verificata in modo indipendente.
Precedentemente, le forze armate iraniane avevano annunciato la fine delle operazioni militari contro Israele, avvertendo avrebbero potuto esserci attacchi "più duri" se Israele avesse ripreso i bombardamenti sul Libano, secondo quanto riportato dall'agenzia di stampa semi-ufficiale Fars.
"A seguito delle aggressioni e degli atti di sovversione perpetrati dal brutale regime sionista nel Libano meridionale e nella regione di Dahieh, con il sostegno della criminale America, le potenti forze armate della Repubblica Islamica dell'Iran, a sostegno del popolo oppresso del Libano, hanno dato una risposta dolorosa a questo regime", si legge nel comunicato, che cita il quartier generale centrale di Khatam al-Anbiya.
Il presidente iraniano, Masoud Pezeshkian, ha ribadito che la priorità assoluta di Teheran resta «la sicurezza nazionale e la pace del nostro popolo».
In un post pubblicato su X, il leader iraniano ha usato toni fermi: «Difenderemo i diritti della nazione con autorità e non ci tireremo indietro di fronte ad alcuna minaccia». Pezeshkian ha poi sottolineato l'equilibrio della strategia geopolitica del Paese: «Diplomazia e difesa sono i due pilastri del potere nazionale; non abbiamo abbandonato né il campo di battaglia né il tavolo delle trattative».

The UK government has been accused of dragging its feet over plans for the mandatory regulation of bailiffs amid concerns about harmful practices in an industry that collects more than £1bn a year from indebted Britons.
A year on from an announcement by the Ministry of Justice that it would legislate to make independent regulation of bailiffs mandatory, the body that now oversees the industry, the Enforcement Conduct Board (ECB), criticised the lack of “visible progress”.

Sabato scorso, il calciatore iracheno Aymen Hussein è stato trattenuto e interrogato per ben sette ore al suo arrivo all'aeroporto di Chicago, negli Stati Uniti, dove si trova con la nazionale in vista dei Mondiali FIFA 2026.
Secondo i media iracheni, l'incidente è avvenuto durante i controlli di frontiera. Mentre il resto della squadra ha ottenuto il via libera immediato, l'attaccante e leader della nazionale è stato bloccato per approfonditi controlli di sicurezza. Nonostante la collaborazione dello staff della delegazione irachena, i compagni hanno dovuto lasciare lo scalo senza di lui.
Dopo una vera e propria odissea burocratica durata sette ore, Hussein è stato finalmente rilasciato e ha potuto raggiungere il ritiro della squadra. L'Iraq scenderà in campo il 9 giugno contro il Venezuela per l'ultima amichevole pre-Mondiale, prima del debutto ufficiale nella competizione.
