Sudan crisis worsens as civil war enters 4th year and Hormuz closure disrupts aid

It's the world's largest humanitarian crisis, yet aid groups say it has received far too little attention. As Sudan's civil war enters its fourth year, nearly two out of every five people face emergency-level hunger and humanitarian officials warn the crisis has been compounded by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Irlanda del Norte ha visto cómo volvía a repetirse la violencia callejera de los dos últimos años, cuando las protestas contra la población inmigrante desencadenaron enfrentamientos con el resultado de más de 100 policías heridos y decenas de detenidos. El intento, en la noche del lunes, de un hombre de origen sudanés de unos 30 años de decapitar a otro varón de unos 40 en el norte de Belfast con un cuchillo de cocina ha alterado los ánimos y estimulado los temores de gran parte de la población norirlandesa.

Tracking looted antiquities in Sudan’s war

Just two months after civil war erupted in Sudan, in June 2023, a video circulated on social media showing paramilitary fighters inside a laboratory at the National Museum of Sudan, located in the heart of the country’s capital, Khartoum. While fierce fighting with the army continued outside the compound, the footage showed a group of men claiming that the corpses around them were victims of the regime.
