Kyle Sandilands has settled his legal dispute with ARN Media with a $12m cash payment over three years, but Jackie O Henderson’s $82m claim against the broadcaster will continue.

The shock jock agreed to drop his $85m lawsuit against KIIS FM, in return for a cash payment and $1.5m in advertising contra on ARN’s stations for a new broadcasting venture yet to be announced.

The inquiry heard evidence of residents being pressured to relocate, deceived about their rights and fearful of losing their homes and communities. Those allegations are serious, but Labor’s response shows they haven’t taken them seriously … They don’t care what the experts say or what people think. We’ve had to send in the Ombudsman to hold Labor to account before they do irreparable damage.

As the war in Ukraine took centre stage at the G7 summit in Evian, France, US President Donald Trump said Moscow should make peace with Kyiv and suggested that the US could bring back sanctions on Russian oil now that the Strait of Hormuz is expected to reopen. Elon Musk’s SpaceX has overtaken Amazon as the world’s fifth-most valuable company days after its stock market debut.

The jump in value came as it agreed to buy the startup behind the AI-powered coding app Cursor for $60bn (£44bn), in an attempt to capitalise on the technology’s success as a coding tool.

ATO outsource call centre workers paid 40% less than public service peers, Fair Work submission claims

In lead-up to ‘same job, same pay’ hearings, former call centre worker Nathan Brunne says pay gap is structural and widens at senior levels

Workers at the Australian Taxation Office’s outsource call centres are paid up to 40% less than their public service counterparts on the same phone lines, according to submissions lodged in the lead-up to landmark “same job, same pay” hearings.

The pay gap, detailed by Nathan Brunne, a former worker on the ATO phone lines employed by the private equity-backed Probe Operations, widens at more senior call centre roles, with team leaders at outsource operators paid about $31 an hour compared with more than $52 at the tax office.

The chair of Fujitsu, the Japanese technology firm at the centre of the Post Office IT scandal, has resigned after its board became aware of his “woman-related inappropriate conduct”.

The company said on Tuesday that Hidenori Furuta had stepped down after two years in the role.
