The remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur battered parts of the southeastern United States with heavy rain on Thursday, sparking flash flood and tornado warnings along the Gulf Coast.

Flash flooding was the main threat from Arthur, a weak tropical storm that the National Hurricane Center in Miami said would be short-lived.
