The man was confirmed to be dead after he had barricaded himself in a building in Midland, following an earlier shooting on Friday that killed one person and injured at least 11 others.

The 59-year-old pilot faces seven charges, including fraud, forging documents and public mischief.

The pilot, who retired last year before the investigation, held some valid flight credentials, officials said, but not the one required to be a captain.
