Cricket’s international governing body has suspended Canada over what it described as “serious breaches of its membership obligations”, dealing the latest blow to an organization that critics say has become a “laughing stock” within the sport.

The suspension also comes amid growing concerns that one of Canada’s fastest-growing sports is being influenced by members of a notorious gang that operates with impunity from an Indian prison cell.

Escursionista britannica muore dopo essere precipitata da un’altezza di 500 metri da una montagna: “Scivolata su una chiazza di neve durante la discesa”

Una escursionista britannica ha perso la vita dopo essere precipitata da un’altezza di circa 500 metri sul picco Balaitús, nelle montagne dei Pirenei spagnoli. La donna stava percorrendo il celebre itinerario alpinistico noto come Grande Diagonale quando si è verificata la tragedia. La cima del Balaitús è una montagna di 3.135 metri che separa la valle spagnola di Tena dalla Val d’Azun francese.

La donna, una cittadina britannica di 42 anni residente in Finlandia, stava facendo un’escursione con il suo compagno di 53 anni e stava percorrendo la Grande Diagonale del picco Balaitús quando è precipitata, secondo quanto riportato dalla BBC. Il suo compagno è ancora vivo.

La donna, la cui identità non è stata resa pubblica, è precipitata da un’altezza di circa 500 metri dalla cima nella regione di Huesca, in Spagna, secondo quanto riportato dal quotidiano locale Sur. Si ritiene che la caduta sia avvenuta a causa di una scivolata su una chiazza di neve durante la discesa.

La Guardia Civil spagnola sta indagando su quanto accaduto e al momento lo classifica come “tragico incidente dovuto a una caduta”, ha dichiarato un rappresentante, secondo quanto riportato dal The Sun.

La sua morte è avvenuta durante nove operazioni di soccorso alpino effettuate tra il 26 e il 30 maggio, secondo la BBC.

Exam fail: Indian students complain en masse about marking errors in key final exams
