Il presidente Donald Trump non era presente al debutto della nazionale statunitense contro il Paraguay, ma in sua vece ha inviato allo stadio di Los Angeles una delegazione guidata dal segretario di Stato Marco Rubio, inquadrato in qualche occasione sui maxischermi accanto al presidente della Fifa Gianni Infantino, che ha lanciato una frecciata sulla mancata qualificazione dell’Italia.
